LMO Advertising, the largest advertising agency in the D.C. area, announced that Sherri Anne Green, the firm’s director of marketing, has been named to the inaugural Board of Directors of Washington, D.C.’s Jefferson Awards.
According to the agency, the establishment of the Washington, D.C. Jefferson Awards marks a pivotal moment for the organization and its board. This will be the first establishment of a hyper-local program in the D.C. area that honors community leaders and students. Board members will be tasked with designing the entire program using the national model.
As a board member, Green will be responsible for setting the organization’s goals and strategic direction in the D.C. region. She will help the organization identify and honor deserving award candidates, while inspiring others to volunteer and serve their communities.
“I am honored to be a part of such an amazing organization and I look forward to serving on the board,” said Green. “There are so many young change-makers in the D.C. area ready to give back and I am excited be a part of the growth of service and the awards in our region.”
The awards were founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft, Jr., and Sam Beard. The award is America’s highest honor for public service, a “Nobel Prize for public service.”
