Marketing for Change, a research and creative agency propelled by behavioral science, has been selected by Americares to support its COVID-19 vaccination campaign for staff and volunteers at free and charitable clinics across the country.

“Many agencies focus on communicating a message well. We focus on what’s underneath the messages – the drivers that will truly help people change their behavior.” said Karen Ong, a principal at Marketing for Change, which is located in Alexandria, VA, and Orlando, FL. “We are thrilled to help Americares design and execute a campaign that bolsters confidence in these vaccines and eases concerns for this frontline audience, getting more people vaccinated.”

The Americares COVID-19 vaccine confidence project, funded in part by a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, brings together hundreds of clinics, the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC), and state associations to educate health workers about the importance of vaccination.

“We are working to reinforce confidence among health care personnel and, in turn, the patients they serve. The vast majority of patients will get vaccinated against COVID-19 if their health provider recommends it,” said Americares Vice President of U.S. Programs Edith Lee. “We are excited to work with Marketing for Change on this project and use their team’s behavior change insight to create messages that inspire confidence in COVID-19 vaccines.”

Americares helps communities prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters; increase access to critical medicine and medical supplies; improve and expand clinical services; and prevent disease and promote good health. In the United States, Americares responds to emergencies and supports nearly 1,000 partner clinics and health centers serving more than 7 million patients in need with medicine, supplies, education and training.
