Maryland Updates: News from Clapp Communications, PRR, Marriner and Campfire Communications

Baltimore-based Clapp Communications announced Belair Road Supply as its newest client. Clapp Communications will be providing marketing and public relations services to the family-owned business, which is approaching its 100-year anniversary. The company provides the construction trades with water and sewer, masonry, stone, hardscapes, and industrial tools and products.

Traceé Strum-Gilliam heads the new Baltimore office of full-service communications agency PRR. She has national expertise in environmental justice analysis, outreach and consensus building on transportation and infrastructure projects.

Marriner Marketing Communications adds Anthony Towey as social media manager.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has named Campfire Communications president Henry Fawell to the Board of Directors for the Maryland Public-Private Marketing Corporation, a new entity responsible for developing a branding and marketing strategy for Maryland and for recruiting businesses to relocate to Maryland. Fawell served as press secretary to the Governor of Maryland from 2003 to 2007. Prior to founding Campfire, he served as a media strategist for corporate clients at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, a 500-attorney business litigation law firm. Earlier, the Capitol Communicator reported the appointment of Van Eperen CEO Laura Van Eperen to the board, which includes leaders from AstraZeneca, Volvo, McCormick, Inc., Plank Industries, The University of Maryland and others.
