Mid-Atlantic Tourism Public Relations Alliance Names Four New Executive Board Members

by | Aug 27, 2015

The Mid-Atlantic Tourism Public Relations Alliance (MATPRA), a consortium of public relations and marketing professionals dedicated to promoting destination markets in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, announced the appointment of four new executive board members. The new board members terms will continue through June 30, 2016, and members of the executive board are:

Moneé Cottman, chair, is the national public relations manager for Visit Baltimore. She has been a member of MATPRA since 2008, and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2012. In her secretarial role, she restructured the media committee’s efforts to further allow the membership to explore and form new relationships with journalists. Cottman is the first African American in MATPRA’s 13-year history to serve in this leadership position.

Leslie Troy, chair-elect, is the communications specialist for the Maryland Office of Tourism Development in Baltimore. She began her public relations career as a publicist in the entertainment industry and previously served as the public relations manager at Visit Baltimore before joining the Maryland Office of Tourism. Troy has been a member of MATPRA since 2010 and has served as the organization’s media committee chairperson and on the Board of Directors as secretary.

Jennifer Buske-Sigal, secretary, is the media relations manager for Visit Loudoun. A former journalist, she now manages all press inquiries, creates content for the organization’s social media platforms, and hosts journalists in DC’s Wine Country. She joined MATPRA in 2012.

Carl Whitehill, immediate past chair, is the director of communications for Destination Gettysburg. He’s been a member of MATPRA for the past seven years and has served on its Board of Directors for three years.
