R2integrated, a national, full-service agency and a portfolio company of ORIX Mezzanine & Private Equity, has closed the acquisition of digital agency, Make Me Social. This announcement comes following r2i’s recent acquisition of CatapultWorks, growing the agency to over $40M in revenue and 200 employees, with offices in Silicon Valley, New York City, Seattle, and Baltimore/Washington, D.C.

Make Me Social creates social and content strategies, cross-channel campaigns, and engagement programs that generate opportunities, increase conversions, and deepen customer relationships. These capabilities and Make Me Social’s focus on analytics, strategy, execution, and ROI align with r2i’s approach and give r2i the ability to scale high-demand services across a broader client base.

Make Me Social works with a range of clients in industries such as financial services, retail, non-profit, and media, including Envestnet, Thomas & Betts, Triboro Quilt Manufacturing and Summit Golf Brands. The Make Me Social team is also experienced with marketing technology platforms such as HubSpot, Tableau and Marketo, adding to r2i’s capabilities in cloud-based solutions.

“Make Me Social has not only a strong New York City presence, a market we have been seeking to expand, but also a team of highly specialized marketers that fit well with r2i’s services,” said Matt Goddard, r2i’s CEO.

The leadership and resources from CMS Group enabled Make Me Social to expand rapidly. CMO Group’s CEO, Stephen Linsenmeyer, comments, “Our goal was to position Make Me Social with the right full-service agency to ensure its full potential. I’ve worked with Matt Goddard in the past and r2i is the perfect fit for Make Me Social where I know they will flourish.”

Make Me Social’s Chief Revenue Officer Mike Riley will serve as president of the new r2i New York City office. “Make Me Social has been a nimble team with a focus on social and content for six years. We’ve done a great job growing the business in these channels and are thrilled to be joining a full-service agency. We can take advantage of r2i’s expertise with the digital marketing cloud, an area that our clients have been clamoring for. Joining r2i allows us to offer complete, integrated, digital marketing solutions—a real value-add to our customers,” stated Riley.

Acquiring Make Me Social is another strategic growth move for r2i in the mid-sized enterprise market of companies with $500 million to $5 billion in revenues. By adding the client base and capabilities of both CatapultWorks and Make Me Social, r2i is well-positioned to compete with other top-tier agencies in this market, stated a release.
