Spurrier Media Group (SMG) and Workshop Digital, two small businesses in Richmond with expertise in marketing and digital consumer engagement, have joined forces to boost awareness about Helping Hands Affordable Veterinary Surgery and Dental Care, a facility in Richmond that offers affordably-priced veterinary services – both surgery and dental care – for dogs, cats and other animals.

According to a release, “Helping Hands provides advanced surgeries on animals at a fraction of the cost that pet owners might pay elsewhere. People have traveled from as far away as Canada, Miami and Albuquerque to entrust their furry friends to the special skills and loving hands of the expert team at Helping Hands.”

“We are really great at taking care of animals, but not so great at getting the word out about what we do,” said Jackie Morasco, co-owner of Helping Hands. “When a pet is facing major surgery, such as an amputation or removal of bladder stones, the thyroid, growths or other complicated procedures, owners are often told that the cost could be several thousand dollars. If they can’t afford the surgery, they might euthanize the pet and that is a heartbreaking decision. They need to know that there’s a low-cost option and we want to help.”

According to the release, “When looking for a local organization to support with some pro bono research and media assistance, Spurrier Media Group felt that Helping Hands was the perfect fit. Both companies are woman-owned small businesses, and the Spurrier team is unanimous in their love for pets of all kinds.”

As a consultant for Helping Hands, Spurrier Media Group developed a strategic marketing and media plan designed to generate awareness about the animal hospital.  They focused on tactics that would encourage potential customers to interact with Helping Hands and ideally prompt an appointment for surgery and/or a dental procedure.

Spurrier Media Group, continued the release, knew that digital marketing would be a key factor in the success of generating leads for Helping Hands, because pet owners seek help by putting the type of surgery needed into search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. When Donna Spurrier contacted Workshop Digital about partnering to lend a helping hand to Helping Hands Veterinary Care, the reply was a resounding “Yes!”
