Potomac-based The YuCrew won Best in Show at the Public Relations Society of America, Maryland Chapter’s annual “Best in Maryland” awards Dec. 1 in Baltimore. The winning campaign focused on World Thrombosis Day, mobilizing some 175 partners worldwide to elevate the global conversation on blood clots.
Four organizations won three Best in Maryland awards each: A. Bright Idea; Crosby Marketing Communications; Johns Hopkins Medicine and Vitamin. Johns Hopkins University Press and ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) each won two Best in Maryland awards.
In all, 46 awards were presented – Best in Maryland awards and Awards of Excellence – to the following organizations:
Bonnie Heneson Communications, Inc.; Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company; Chaney Enterprises (photo, left); Clapp Communications; Coster Communications; Devaney & Associates, Inc; Erickson Living; Howard Hughes Medical Institute; IMPACT Marketing & Public Relations, LLC; J. Davis Public Relations, LLC; Johns Hopkins HealthCare LLC; News Generation, Inc.; Ocean Pines Association, Inc.; Sandy Hillman Communications; Stevenson University; The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore; and Weber Shandwick.
The Maryland chapter also awarded a Lifetime Achievement award to Ralph Crosby, founder of Crosby Marketing Communications in Annapolis (see earlier coverage in the Capitol Communicator); the New Professional award to Josie Hankey, communications strategist with The Fallston Group in Bel Air, Md.; Educator of the Year to Cylor Spaulding, Ph. D., assistant professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Communication Studies at Towson University; and the Partner of Distinction award to Erickson Living (PR team, right)
