Spots from three area organizations were honored as being among  the world’s best commercials in the Film and Film Craft competition at the recently concluded Cannes Lions festival.  AdWeek has a feature on the “World’s 23 Best Commercials of 2014-2015”, which notes that eight of the commercials were U.S. spots and three – from Conservation International, and GEICO – are from D.C.-area organizations.

A video for the U.S. government’s titled  “Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis: President Barack Obama”, made the list of best commercials.

An award-winning Geico spot, “Unskippable: Family Long Form 01”, was produced by The Martin Agency, which is based in Richmond.  Geico’s corporate office is in Chevy Chase, Md.

Conservation International’s “The Ocean”, entered by TBWA\Media Arts Lab Los Angeles/MAL For Good Los Angeles, also made the list. The organization is headquartered in Arlington, Va.
