Women in Film & Video’s (WIFV) annual writing/producing conference – ScriptDC – will be held Nov. 14 -16 in the Media & Public Affairs Building on the campus of The George Washington University. The conference is open to all aspiring, emerging and established filmmakers with workshops for all levels of expertise.
ScriptDC provides attendees with insider knowledge about creating, writing and pitching for feature films, television series, reality series and documentaries. According to a release, WIFV is delighted to be hosting this extraordinary weekend, which will offer panel discussions, master class workshops, film screenings and networking opportunities. “Each year, we are fortunate to have a variety of presenters with a wealth of knowledge to share,” said Erin Essenmacher, WIFV President. “ScriptDC is a conference designed to engage directors, producers, editors, and screenwriters.”
A number of attendees will have the opportunity to practice their pitches with producers and get feedback on how to take the pitch to the next level. There is also an opportunity for screenwriters to have the first five pages of their screenplays critiqued by industry professionals. These slots, we were told, will fill up, so early registration is suggested and early-bird rates are in effect until Oct. 10.
Registration is at: www.wifv.org/scriptdc.
