Laurie Cantillo is out of her program director job at WTOP.  According to DCRTV, a Friday afternoon staff memo from WTOP Senior Vice President/General Manager Joel Oxley stated, “The decision has been made to not renew Laurie Cantillo’s contract.”

DCRTV continued, “A staff memo from Cantillo doesn’t give any specifics regarding her departure. But she says, “This the right time for me to pursue my next adventure… My immediate plan is to co-create a screenplay… and finally get around to writing that next best seller. Radio and digital media innovation will continue to be a big part of my life, so stay tuned”.”

The departure of Cantillo comes days after WTOP, the radio rating leader in D.C.,  announced a major news-sharing partnership with WRC-TV.
