TEDxMidAtlantic is set for September 25 – 26 in D.C. This year’s theme is “Intersections.” According to Deb Lavoy, founder and CEO, Narrative Builders, and one of the the event’s organizers, “An ‘intersection’ is a crossroads — a point of both convergence of disciplines and of divergence. It is an opportunity and a decision.”
So far, 16 speakers have been announced for the two-day event, including Blair Glencorse, a corruption fighter who founded Accountability Labs to build a new generation of international changemakers who fight for integrity; Katie Bechtold, who was the flight controller for the NASA New Horizons Pluto mission; and Alex Winter of “Bill and Ted” fame, and whose award-winning documentary, Deep Web, was showcased at SXSW.
TEDxMidAtlantic took a hiatus in 2014, but is returning to Sydney Harman Hall, September 25-26. According to Lavoy, this event will attract a “community of thinkers, innovators and doers. As the volunteers, the speakers and the audience converge, the event crackles with energy and excitement. This is truly an event of, by and for the Mid Atlantic region.”
