Gotham Government Relations, a lobbying and public relations firm with an office in Garden City, Long Island, is opening an office in Washington, D.C., the company announced just days before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. According to an article in Long Island Tech News, Gotham has represented Trump on projects around the world since 2010, according to the firm’s news release. “We have gotten to know Mr. Trump in the context of working for him on a number of diverse projects,” the news release stated. “It has been exhilarating to work for a man whom we have grown to respect and admire over the years, and we are looking forward to working with clients on an agenda to advance their interests and to make America a better place to live.” The firm’s DC office is at 1750 K Street NW.
The announcement follows word that Corey Lewandowski and Barry Bennett “are joining a rush of Trump associates making moves to cash in on their ties to the new administration. Bill Smith, Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s former chief of staff in Congress and the governor’s office, recently started lobbying at the federal level through his friend Terry Allen‘s firm, Fidelis Government Relations. David Schwartz, a New York lawyer whose Gotham Government Relations & Communications has worked with Trump in the past, also announced plans to open a Washington office. Rudy Giuliani is also staying in the private sector, where he has built a lucrative consulting business, stated POLITICO, which added that Lewandowksi, Trump’s first campaign manager, and Bennett, who advised the campaign after running Ben Carson‘s bid, are opening a government affairs and consulting firm called Avenue Strategies, with a website advertising their close ties to Trump and even their office’s physical proximity to the White House.
