Maryland-based V360 Fundraising, specializing in creating fundraising programs for military nonprofits nationwide, announced that founder and CEO Mike DeMos has sold the company to Chief Operating Officer Joe Casalino.

Taking on the role of CEO, Casalino served as COO for the past three years and has more than two decades of experience in the non-profit marketplace.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to build on Mike’s commitment to our clients and the incredible causes and people they serve,” said Casalino, left in photo. “Mike has always embraced the same vision as I have for V360 Fundraising — to empower amazing people and great causes by solving their fundraising challenges.”

Based in Baltimore and with an office in Annapolis, the fundraising company was founded by U.S. Army veteran DeMos who will now serve as a strategic advisor.

“My original goal was to ensure our non-profit customers received a bigger share of their donation income in an environment facing more competition, more noise and less trust,” DeMos said. “We delivered on that promise and now that fundraising is harder than ever we will continue to find new ideas and new approaches, so we can continue that commitment.

“As chief operating officer, Joe took the science behind fundraising to a new level, improving response rates, lowering production costs and putting more money into the pockets of our customers, and that kind of innovation will continue under his leadership,” DeMos said.

Prior to joining V360 Fundraising in 2018, Casalino ran IQ Strategic Communications and its predecessor Performance Strategies, a data-driven marketing solutions agency in Annapolis. Clients included The Army Ten-Miler and the American Counseling Association, and organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, George Washington’s Mount Vernon, The Field Museum of Chicago, and the American Society of Association Executives.

Earlier, Casalino managed membership and retention at Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), where his role was valuable in the data-driven decision to rebrand the organization from The Retired Officers of America (TROA). During his tenure, the association maintained a 94% retention rate and boasted its highest membership on record.

Casalino holds a master’s degree in campaign management from George Washington University.

DeMos said he will focus on developing the marketing communications agency he acquired in 2019, Clapp 360, covered by Capitol Communicator.
