Ad 2 DC Awarded First Place for Public Service Campaign; AAF DC Wins Six Awards at AAF National Conference

by | Jun 8, 2016

Ad 2 DC, the young professionals division of the American Advertising Federation DC Chapter (AAF DC) was awarded first place for their public service campaign in the American Advertising Federation’s National Ad 2 Public Service Advertising Competition. Additionally, Ad 2 DC was recognized for leadership in three Club Achievement categories, including first place in Club Operations. AAF DC won six awards for Club Achievement and placed first in Government Relations.

Each year, Ad 2 chapters from across the nation compete in the Ad 2 Public Service Advertising Competition. Participating clubs submit a written report about their campaign, followed by an oral presentation at the American Advertising Federation’s National Conference. A panel of judges evaluates the campaigns and selects the best among that year’s work.

“We are so proud of the pro-bono campaign we were able to produce for the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. We saw a 10% increase in camp registrations after our campaign and were able to produce a collateral that they can reuse in the future. It’s one of the most rewarding experiences and we can’t wait to pick the next non-profit and do it all again,” said Kate Sobel, Ad 2 DC’s 2015-2016 Chair.

The American Advertising Federation’s Club Achievement Competition recognizes local advertising clubs for their accomplishments in advertising education, club operations, communications, diversity and multicultural initiatives, government relations, membership, programs and public service.

AAF DC was awarded first place for Government Relations; second place for Advertising Education, Membership Development, and Programs; and third place for Club Operations and Public Service. Ad 2 DC was awarded first place for Club Operations, and third place for Programs and Public Service.

The awards were presented at the AAF National Conference, ADMERICA! 2016, on June 5 in Anaheim, CA.
