Philadelphia Agency Helps HipCityVeg Expand into D.C. Jeffrey Davis June 23, 2016 AdvertisingTwo Philadelphia-based brands have expanded into Washington, D.C., as creative agency At Media helped launch HipCityVeg, a fast casual restaurant that uses 100% plant-based ingredients and compostable materials, in D.C.’s Chinatown neighborhood.HipCityVeg, with two locations in Philadelphia, is owned and operated by Marquis & Co., which also owns two full-service restaurants: Charlie was a sinner. and Bar Bombón. The new HipCityVeg at 712 7th Street NW is the first project for At Media in the D.C. area, and the first restaurant location outside of Philadelphia for Marquis & Co.At Media, headed by CEO Antoinette Marie Johnson, collaborated with architects HapstakDemetriou+ to design the interior, which features a back-lit sign spelling out “Crispy” and an oversized manifesto board.At Media also commissioned a mural from D.C. artist Rose Jaffe, featuring one of the original loyal customers on the walls. Grand opening festivities included a social media influencers party, free pedicab rides, free food and donations to HipCityVeg’s nonprofit partner Get Real Get Raw. At Media also developed the new HipCityVeg website to include the D.C. location.
