Nahigian Strategies, LLC, a full-service communications and public relations agency with offices in Washington, D.C. and Charlotte, N.C., announced that veteran communications and public relations professional Jim Lake joined the firm as a Principal. Lake brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm’s Washington office where he will leverage his extensive experience in the public and private sectors, coupled with his political acumen, to the benefit the firm’s existing and growing client base.
According to a release, “Lake’s considerable experience across all facets of Washington operations comes from his hands-on political, business and government experience. Lake recently ran his own strategic communications firm focusing on public affairs, issues management and crisis communications. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President with DDC Advocacy, a full-service international advocacy firm. Lake joined DDC from McBee Strategic where he was an Executive Vice President responsible for domestic and international client management and development. Prior to McBee, Lake was President and Partner at Gibraltar Associates, a corporate communications and public affairs boutique firm.
“As the Chairman of the U.S. Public Affairs practice at Burson-Marsteller from 2002-2008, he oversaw the rejuvenation of the firm’s public affairs offering and grew a substantial federal government business portfolio that included the award-winning Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s “New Color of Money” campaign that introduced the redesigned colored currency into circulation around the world. Lake also served for eight years through the Reagan/Bush and Bush/Quayle Administrations at the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, where he helped execute global export strategies.”
